with 10 - 16 incurved petals and reddish pink stamens. Likes sun or semi

Magnolia grandiflora 'Edith Bogue' Evergreen shrub or tree, large glossy leaves and

Magnolia Susan A medium sized deciduous shrub, which in early summer has
six petalled flowers, deep purple in bud showing paler inside when open.

Myrtis communis 'Variegatus' Evergreen bushy shrub has quite small cream and
green
variegated leaves. Fragrant white flowers in early summer followed by black fruits.
Likes a sunny sheltered position. Grows up to 6 feet.

Neillia affinis A beautiful arching shrub with smallish reddish-green leaves. In
early summer it bears racemes of small pink flowers. Has good autumn colour.

Paeonia lutea var. ludlowii (tree peony) Large golden yellow saucer shaped
flowers four inches across bloom in early to mid summer. Given full sun and
a sheltered site it will thrive in any well drained soil growing up to 8 feet tall.

Paulownia fortunei A handsome tree with very large velvety leaves
and lilac
foxglove like flowers. Grows to approx 20 feet, fairly quickly.

Paulownia elongata A very similar tree to Paulownia fortunei but
taller. Used
as a timber tree in its native America. It has the same large velvety leaves and

white flowers with mauve markings inside. This early summer flowering shrub

Philadelphus microphyllus (mock orange) Small delicate deciduous shrub. In summer
it produces extremly fragrant cream flowers in much abundance. The smell reminescent

Pieris 'Forest Flame' Very slow wing evergreen shrub. The new growth is a brilliant
red ageing to yellow then green. The flowers resemble lily of the valley and hang in

Pieris 'Flaming Silver' Slow growing evergreen shrub which has bright crimson
young growth it then turns variegated with age. The bell shaped white flowers
